Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get a BlingTag?

BlingTags are available from local financial institutions who are members of Bling Nation. Because a BlingTag transaction is a debit transaction, you will need to have an account with the institution that offers BlingTags.

Must my phone accept SMS messages?

If your phone accepts text messages, it will be able to receive transaction confirmations and account balance information. However, if it does not, you can still use the BlingTag but you will not be able to receive instant text message confirmations.

What happens if someone steals my phone?

If a person tries to use your phone for a payment, they will receive a call asking for a pin number, and the account will be frozen immediately.

What type of phone do I need to use Bling?

You can use any mobile phone device. It does not have to be “smart” phone.

What should I do if I lose my BlingTag or phone?

Contact your financial institution right away. It can issue you a replacement for a replacement phone. Or you can call the Bling IVR to report a lost Tag 24/7 at 877-594-6372.

Who accepts BlingTags? How do I find out?

Many local businesses accept BlingTags and display advertising that they accept Bling. You can also check the Bling Nation web site for an updated list. Businesses are constantly being added, so check back often.

How soon until other banks in the area start issuing BlingTags?

Local financial institutions can join Bling Nation at any time. If your financial institution does not yet participate, send us an email message and let us know.

The bank says an email address is necessary to get a BlingTag, but I don't have a computer. Can I still get a BlingTag?

Each financial institution has its own requirements, so check with your bank. Each customer must have a mobile number that can be linked to his or her account.

Will a BlingTag interfere with my cell phone's reception?

It shouldn't interfere. Because the BlingTag simply adheres to the back of the phone, it should not affect functionality in any way.

What should I do if I need a new BlingTag?

Simply visit your financial institution and request a new BlingTag.

Can I go online and order a BlingTag?

Please check with your bank.

How soon does the money leave my account when I make a purchase?

BlingTag transactions are debit transactions, so when you use your BlingTag, your account is instantly debited.

Can I have more than one BlingTag on one checking account?

Yes. If more than one person is listed on the account such as your spouse and each has a separate mobile phone number, they can each have a BlingTag.

Do you have a toll-free number for me to call when I have questions?

Since the Bling Nation service is customized by each bank, the best way to have your questions answered is to contact your local financial institution.
